my first rock music show was the allman bros.i ran away from my cushy but dysfunctional home in point grey and went and moved in with my oldest brother, duane, his wife and son kevin.going to a rock show for the first time was a momentous occasion.i bought the bands latest album “live at the fillmore east” and listened to it religiously.at the time i didnt know that duane allman had died already but the little i remember of the show it was a blast.this was one of the first blues based bands that i experienced and was to have a lasting impression on me.the only blues bands up to that point for me was johhny winter and of course jimi hendrix.not sure at the time if i understood that hendrix was actually rooted in the blues but as my teenage years progressed i started to listen to b.b king, muddy waters and sonhouse etc.btw,i can't remember seeing bozz scaggs.maybe i arrived late.i think i started listening to bozz not long afterwards when i was given his album “my time” for xmas.great album along with bozz's other early albums that were more blues oriented.
stay tuned….. my next two concerts in early february 1974 were bob dylan w/the band and van morrison.
